Ocean House’s championship croquet lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean offers a beautifully manicured course ideal for traditional six-wicket croquet. Our Croquet Lawn is championship quality bent grass greens and has been laser leveled and designed according to regulation standards.
With guidance from our on-site croquet professional, Stephen Morgan, our Croquet Lawn is a magical gathering space for family and friends to participate in this timeless Rhode Island activity that can be enjoyed at every age and skill level. With the sea below you and the gentle ocean breezes to keep you cool, the Ocean House Croquet Lawn is the ideal location to practice or polish your croquet skills.
We ask that guests observe traditional croquet attire of white collared shirts, and white or khaki shorts or long pants and flat soled shoes. Croquet whites are requested but not required.
Private Lessons & Events
Ocean House’s Croquet Professional, Stephen Morgan, is a world-ranking champion that oversees the croquet program here at Ocean House. Hotel and day guests alike can enjoy private croquet lessons, as well as groups looking for a fun time on the croquet court overlooking the sea.
Rates include instruction, mallets and all other necessary equipment. Players under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Ocean House Croquet League Matches
Join us for evenings of noble sportsmanship as Ocean House launches a competitive croquet league series, with matches each Wednesday in season.
Ocean House’s Croquet Professional, Stephen Morgan, is a world-ranking croquet champion and will supervise and coach each match.
Rate includes instruction, mallets and all other necessary equipment. A dress code of all white attire and flat-soled shoes is enforced for these matches.
Kid’s Croquet Days
Young athletes are invited to join us for a fun and informative croquet experience each Wednesday in season.
Ocean House’s Croquet Professional, Stephen Morgan, is a world-ranking croquet champion and will lead each session, beginning with hands-on instruction and practice, followed by coached matches.
Rate includes instruction, mallets and all other necessary equipment. A dress code of all white attire and flat-soled shoes is enforced for these matches.
Lunch, Brunch & Croquet
After a wonderful lunch on the Verandah or at Dalia, or after Sunday Jazz Brunch in the Bistro, enjoy a one-hour, semi-private croquet lesson overlooking the sea.
As a thank you for dining with us, the service fee for the croquet experience will be waived.

Croquet Resort Activity
Complimentary lessons/ demonstrations are available for resort guests at 10:00 a.m. each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 3:30 p.m. each Thursday and Friday, late May 26 through September 27.
